As the New Year begins, one thing we want to make sure of is that everyone is accurately and efficiently reporting out-of-state shipments. Many states ask for additional reporting information other than the usual information provided (name, address, ship date, sale amount, etc).

Here are the additional requirements for out-of-state shipment reporting:

• GA – County shipped to
• IA – Tracking number
• ID – Customer date of birth
• ME – Carrier name
• MO – Tracking number
• NC – County shipped to
• ND – County shipped to
• NE – City codes
• NH – Tracking number
• NV – County shipped to
• NY – County code

In addition, please be advised that if you are licensed in any of the following states you are required to remit sales tax on freight:

CT, GA, IL, MI, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, TX, WA, WI
