Great news! The excise tax rates for wine have been reduced as of January 1st 2018. In addition, the alcohol content was raised from 14% to 16% to qualify for the lower tax rate! The tax rates are as follows:

Wine under 16% alcohol
Up to 30,000 gallons – $0.07 per gallon
30,001-130,000 gallons – $0.17 per gallon
130,001-750,000 gallons – $0.535 per gallon
Over 750,000 gallons – $1.07 per gallon

Wine 16% alcohol to 21% alcohol
Up to 30,000 gallons – $0.57 per gallon
30,001-130,000 gallons – $0.67 per gallon
130,001-750,000 gallons – $1.035 per gallon
Over 750,000 gallons – $1.57 per gallon

Artificially Carbonated wine
Up to 30,000 gallons – $2.30 per gallon
30,001-130,000 gallons – $2.40 per gallon
130,001-750,000 gallons – $2.765 per gallon
Over 750,000 gallons – $3.30 per gallon

Naturally occurring Sparkling Wine
Up to 30,000 gallons – $2.40 per gallon
30,001-130,000 gallons – $2.50 per gallon
130,001-750,000 gallons – $2.865 per gallon
Over 750,000 gallons – $3.40 per gallon
